RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FAMILY REUNIFICATION
A residence permit for the purpose of family reunification enables the reunification of third-country nationals residing in Hungary or Hungarian citizens and their third-country family members in Hungary. Thus, for this type of permit, family cohabitation is the purpose of the residence to be verified.

A family member is the spouse of a third-country national, a minor child shared with his or her spouse, a dependent minor child under parental responsibility, and a dependent minor child of his or her spouse over whom the spouse exercises parental responsibility.

The administrative deadline for a residence permit for the purpose of family reunification of is 21 days from the date of submission.
Period of validity of the permit
The residence permit for the purpose of family reunification is valid for a maximum of 3 years, however, depending on the residence permit of the family member in Hungary, it can be 4 or 5 years as well.
FEES AND COSTS
